Mizoram Christian College Library Automation with Barcode System is fully
automated by using SOUL 2.0 (Software of University Library). The second version of
Software for University Libraries (SOUL) is state-of-the-art integrated library management
software designed and developed by the INFLIBNET Centre based on requirements of
colleges, universities and other academic libraries. It is user-friendly software developed to
work under client-server environment. The software is compliant to international standards
for bibliographic formats and circulation protocols.

The library books are classified by using Dewey decimal classification 23rd Edition.
The Library is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days. Circulation is one of the
most important sections in the library as it is the gateway between users and documents. This
section handles maximum services apart from the provision of lending and renewal of books,
services such as registration of library member, issuing of clearance / no dues certificate and
maintaining statistical information pertaining to the library use. Conditions regarding issue of

There is a reference book which maintains the reference information for the users in
the library. They consist of materials that are meant to aid research by providing quick and
accessible information. The reference sources comprises of dictionaries, bibliographies,
directories etc. The library subscribes journals for different academic departments including
national newspapers and local newspapers. These periodicals are displayed in the racks and
can be consulted but they are not for issue. The library provides the facilities of Photocopying. However, users can take a photocopy with the prior permission of the concerned
staff.
